Can I Borrow Money to Go On Hajj or Umrah?
Hajj is obligatory for all Muslims who are able to once in their lifetime. However does this mean you cannot borrow money to perform Hajj or Umrah? This is answered and explained by Imam Mohammed Mahmoud who is the Senior Imam at East London Mosque & London Muslim Centre. In addition to leading prayer and delivering Friday sermons, he provides religious guidance to congregants, runs Islamic classes and engages in various outreach and interfaith projects.

Gaza’s hospitals are under-resourced, and the Palestinian authorities have put an urgent appeal out for help. Only 20 intensive care beds and equipment are available to treat patients from a population of 1.8m people and if there was to be a COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak, it would have catastrophic consequences!
Gaza’s health system was already under severe pressure due to a lack of medical supplies and the pandemic has only made the situation worse. As of 21st April 2020, there have been a total of 346 Coronavirus cases in Palestine and the healthcare system will collapse if the outbreak worsens.
The Palestinian authorities say they need at least 100 ICU beds and equipment for Gaza and we have partnered up with Islamic Relief to fundraise for 5 ICU beds and other life-saving medical equipment.
Islamic Relief are on the ground in Gaza and have already provided things such as PPE, hygiene kits, food and water for those under quarantine.
Your donations towards this appeal can help save lives in Gaza.
Your donations will be a means of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous rewards) and you’ll be rewarded every time a patient is treated on the ICU beds and when the medical equipment you donate towards are used. The equipment will continue to be used for other emergencies even after the Coronavirus pandemic is over.
All donations will go directly to Islamic Relief's Gaza fund and they will allocate the money towards the ICU equipment which is most urgently needed in Gaza.
